Cancer pain
Pain is a common condition that is experienced by many cancer patients. Cancer pain may be mild, moderate or severe. In many patients the pain may take into several forms, such as feeling like a sharp stabbing pain that comes and goes, burning sensation or with or without tingling sensation or a persistent ache. In many cancer patients pain affects their quality of life (QOL).
Pain can start from different areas of the patient, in some cases, pain starts from the tumour itself, in some cases pain due to the pressure on the different organ by tumor such as abdominal pain that causes tumour pressing on bones, nerves or organs in the body. In these cases proper assessments are required to minimize or get relief from the pain.
